Costs

General

In everyday language, the term "notary fees" refers to all amounts collected by the notary in the course of a transaction. This primarily includes taxes (registration duties), administrative fees (land registry, commercial register), the notary’s remuneration (fees and charges), and incidental expenses.

For ministerial activities—those that only a notary can perform in their capacity as a public officer—the notary is compensated through statutory fees set by law.

For ancillary activities—those beyond the strict scope of ministerial duties (such as legal advice and administrative formalities)—the notary is compensated through fees, determined based on an hourly rate according to the time spent handling the case.

Some ministerial tasks may involve extraordinary work, justifying the additional collection of fees.

Expenses and disbursements incurred are also billed separately.

The notary office is pleased to provide a cost estimate for any transaction free of charge.
